As most people in the village are aware, we have had 2 incidents of flooding in Main Street, Topcliffe Road, and some surrounding houses in the last year.

Work is ongoing with the relevant authorities in an attempt to rectify the matter, however, in the meantime we would ask if residents in the village could be a little more vigilant in what they dispose of in their toilet. Items such as nappy wipes, facial/cleansing tissues, cotton wool, all exacerbate the current situation.

If residents could help by disposing of such items in the normal waste channels, rather than the toilet, this would help ease the situation in the short term.

Thank you in anticipation of your co-operation.
